Alton J. Richwine and his brother-in-law Stanley Newton founded this firm, in its current location, as Richwine & Newton in 1937. Over the years, the firm has grown steadily and is now the largest CPA firm in Monroe, MI. In 1991 the name was changed to Cooley Hehl Wohlgamuth & Carlton, PLLC and now has a total of 16 people, including 10 CPA's, 3 accounting professionals and 3 administrative, in order to service a continuously growing clientele. Today, with active practices in accounting and auditing, tax planning and preparation, personal financial planning, and small business consulting Cooley Hehl Wohlgamuth & Carlton, PLLC has evolved into a full-service accounting and consulting firm serving primarily the Southeastern Michigan and Northeastern Ohio areas.
